Proof - D12 Rapper and Close Friend Of Eminem Shot and Killed at Detroit Nightclub
Proof — real name Deshaun Holton was gunned down early Tuesday at a nightclub along Eight Mile in Detroit.
Proof was one of Eminem’s closest friends and was the best man at Eminem’s wedding in January.
In a spooky foreshadowing Eminem song “Like Toy Soldiers” shows Eminem pacing at a hostipal as doctors try to revive proof who has been shot in the streets.
Later Eminem is seen attending Proof’s funeral in the video lamenting the violence amoungst rappers.
Family members of Proof have been gathering in his neighbourhood after hearing the news of the shooting and his subsequent death.
Proof was shot in a small bar along the Eight Mile Strip along with another 35 year old man. Both were shot in the head and the other man is in a critical condition.
Apparently an argument in C.C.C. nightclub quickly escalated into a shoot out.
Proof was dead on arrival at the St John House System after being taken quickly to the hospital in private vehicles.
The bar is apparently infamous for incidents.
Proof was reportably the man with the idea to form D12 - the six member detroit based rap group which sports Eminem as a member.
Proof’s involvement with D12 resulted in 4 million sales for their debut album “Devils Night”.
Proof also had a solo album called “Searching for Jerry Garcia.”
