Ice Cube To Release His New Album, “Laugh Now, Cry Later”
Hip-Hop Legend and ex-member of N.W.A, Ice Cube will drop his new Album, “Laugh Now, Cry Later” on the 6th of June.
This is ‘Don Mega’s’latest release follwing 2001’s Greatest Hits. The new album is to be released on his independant label, Lench Mob Records.
The Album production will star Scott Storch, Lil’ Jon and Swizz Beatz, all contributing beats for the 18-track album. Appearances with Snoop Dogg, Juelz Santana and WC will headline the guest appearances.
Cube states that the album’s aim is to duscuss “the state of the world in a way. You know, you could say it’s the state of the world, the state of America, the state of urban America.” The album is said to be laced with strong social-political content;
“Now everybody’s doing a lot of playing and nobody’s really thinking about when God’s gonna make us pay for all this at some point in time. That’s really what inspired me to make it that title.” The first single is the produced by Scott Storch and is a social commentary track titled “Why We Thugs.” Also look out for politically charged tracks like “Guns and Drugs” and “Child Support”.
“It’s a metaphor,” he says of the song. “Only a few rappers dead or alive can do that record. I feel I put in enough time in the game. I was one of the architects of this style, gangsta rap. It was time to get it off my chest and say what I think.” -hiphopnews.com
Ice Cube’s musical and acting career spans back to the early 80’s getting his first notable acting role as ‘Doe Boy’ in John singleton’s 1991 classic, ‘Boyz in da Hood’. A year earlier (1990) he released his first solo effort, AmeriKKKa’s Most Wanted after leaving landmark group N.W.A after financial disputes. Cube has never really dropped a weak album and here at FreshHipHopNews.com we anticipate this one will be a straight banger! Lookin forward to that mad west Coast Flavor
