Jay-Z President of Def Jam Happy With Ne-Yo’s “In My Own Words”
Jay-Z has plenty of reason to happy with Ne-Yo’s new album. Ne-Yo’s debut album “In My Own Words” reached the top of the charts in the first week selling over 300,000.
Ne-Yo’s first hit was actually Mario’s “Let Me Love You”
Jay-Z says “thats what separates him from everyone else. He can sing, he can dance, he has the whole package, but on top of that, he’s an excellent songwriter.”
Jay-Z acted as an editor on the album - making recommendations on changes to song and leaving certain songs off Ne-Yo’s debut.
