King of the South T.I. Has Most Album Sales In a Week This Year With His ‘King’ Album
T.I. the self proclaimed king of the south has sold more records in an opening week than any other artist this year edging out Ne-Yo’s In My Own Words.
T.I. is now part of an elite group of rappers who have sold more than 500,000 albums in its first week which includes Jay-Z, Eminem, Kanye West and 50 Cent.
The Atlanta based rapper has had a steady build up of his career since he first released I’m Serious in 2001.
His crossover album Urban Legend was the fastest selling album from a southern artist in history and now King is set to eclipse that by already setting a new record for a rapper from the South in first week sales.
